Beauty Myths... (1)

• One of the most popular beauty myth is "Your skin will be flawless and glowing, if you drink lot of water." Well, water is definitely a key factor to add up a healthy glow to skin. One of the main key features, that water serves is that it helps to flush out body toxin from the body to keep it clean. But, water drinking should be sufficient NOT a lot or Not forcefully taken extra amount. Drink water as per need otherwise, it could add up to other problems, in some cases may leads to flabbyness.

It is already mid November. Winter is practically knocking at our door. Yes the season of fall & dryness is coming. This time the skin of our body needs extra care to get rid of the absolute dryness. It needs to be hydrated and moisturized. Even the oily skinned people feel the need for something which keep the skin soothing with moist 24x7. Thus I went to search for a body lotion & in store I found Dove body lotion.


There are three types of Dove Body lotion (newly launched)


1. Fresh cucumber & green tea scent with a cooling sensation (NORMAL SKIN), the green one.
2. Shea Butter (NORMAL SKIN), the chocolate coloured one.
3. A Blue coloured one (NORMAL to DRY SKIN).


As I have a soft spot for cucumber I went for The cucumber one.

I 'ME' SAY :

Virtues in my eyes:

• Application once in a day does leave skin moisturized and hydrated without any greasy feeling.
• Skin feels soft and supple after application.
• It gets absorbed to the skin pretty quickly.
• After application, it does give a cooling effect, which soothes the skin and comforting.
• The smell is "cucumber"ish, soft & wears of after 5-7 mins, hence no discomfort for the people with sensitive nose.
• Goes well with normal, oily and dry skin.
• 3 years shell life.
• The packaging is cute and hygienic. 
• Affordable.

Flaws in my eyes:

• The flip cap isn't tight enough, so may not be that travel friendly.
• Contains Parabin.
• Not Alcohol free.
• People with extremely dry skin may need to apply it twice within 24 hrs.
• No SPF, hence have to use sunscreen while going out.
• Due to the after cooling effect, may cause discomfort in extreme winter season.
